Resources for the Classroom

Websites can be great tools to get the conversation started about drugs and alcohol in the classroom. Below are a few educational resources we suggest to get started!

Drugs + Your Body
 – from Scholastic, a website with images and information on how drugs affect the body
Medicine Abuse Project – resources for parents and educators on prescription drug abuse and safe drug disposal
Mouse Party by University of Utah – game demonstrates the effects of different drug use on the brain (requires Adobe Flash)
National Institute on Drug Abuse –  classroom resources about drug effects and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle
University of Utah- The Science of Addiction: Genetics and the Brain– interactive educational activities around the science of addiction.

COCA’S educational prevention program’s being offered FREE to Berks County schools for the 2019-20 school year.
