Note: Due to COVID-19, this conference has been canceled.
On March 30, 2020 COCA Prevention Specialist Teresa Detweiler was scheduled to serve as a keynote speaker at the Berks County Medical Society Alliance’s annual education program. Although that event was canceled due to the outbreak of COVID-19, she was featured in a Reading Eagle about that event, with a focus on vaping prevention and treatment techniques for children and teens.
Teresa provides vaping prevention classes for schools and community groups and tobacco cessation classes for adults throughout Berks County. She and fellow presenter Dr. Renee Riddle, a pediatrician with Tower Health, will help event participants learn to screen for vaping use; identify in-person and virtual support resources; and suggest treatment options for vaping and nicotine addiction. They’ll also discuss policies that school districts can adopt that allow children to seek treatment without punishment.
