Teens & Tweens! Join the Tobacco Resistance Unit Today!

The Tobacco Resistance Unit (TRU) is a movement throughout Pennsylvania to help youth aged 12 to 18 stay tobacco-free. In Berks County, COCA is urging high school and middle school students to join TRU.

“Students who join TRU can build leadership skills, earn scholarships and get free swag. But most importantly, they become part of a movement to stop big tobacco companies from getting another generation of kids hooked on nicotine.” — COCA Prevention Specialist Sarah Billman.

Perks of Joining TRU:

  • Participate in community engagement activities that improve resumes and college applications.
  • Build leadership skills and earn scholarship opportunities by becoming a TRU Ambassador
  • Support the youth anti-tobacco movement to stop Big Tobacco from addicting your generation to its products
  • Qualify for TRU gear – FREE t-shirts, hats, lanyards, pop sockets, tumblers and more!
  • Make a difference by advocating for policy change
  • Network with other TRU groups around the state
