Every September we recognize Recovery Month, celebrating the gains made by those in recovery from substance use disorder, and raising awareness that recovery is possible. For September 2026, Recovery Month events included the ever popular Berks Recovery Walk, Recovery Bingo Night, a Narcan & You Lunch & Learn, a delicious Ladies Mingle Potluck, and the first ever Recovery Jam!

About the Berks Recovery Walk

The Berks Recovery Walk took place on Saturday, September 19th, beginning at Recovery Coaching Services on Penn St. in Reading and proceeded about one-mile to the RISE Recovery Center, at 702 N 8th St. The walk ended with a Recovery Celebration that included refreshments and a butterfly release. The Berks Recovery Walk has been a staple in Berks County for over 20 years, providing an opportunity to celebrate people in recovery and to raise awareness that people can and do recover from substance use disorder and go on to live full, productive lives.
