Every September we recognize Recovery Month, celebrating the gains made by those in recovery from substance use disorder, and raising awareness that recovery is possible.

• Sunday, Sept. 8 Berks Recovery Walk & Celebration 10 AM – 1 PM  See photos below
• Fridays, Sept. 6, 13, & 27 Sundaes on Friday at the RISE 4-5 PM
• Saturday, Sept. 7 Community Clean Up at the RISE 8:30 AM- 12 PM
• Mondays, Sept. 9, 23, & 30 Mindfulness Monday at the RISE 4-5 PM
• Tuesday, Sept. 10 Taco Tuesday at the RISE 12-1:30 PM
• Thursday, Sept 12 Recovery Month recognized at Berks Co. Commissioners Board Meeting  10 AM
• Wednesday, Sept. 11 Recovery & Me at the RISE 12 PM – 1 PM
• Wednesday, Sept. 18 No Drama Game Night at the RISE 6-7 PM
• Tuesday, Sept. 24 Recovery Advocacy Day in Harrisburg
• Sunday, Sept. 29 Recovery & Football at the RISE 12:30 PM -3 PM

Photos from the 2024 Berks Recovery Walk

On September 8, participants in the Berks Recovery Walk celebrated Recovery Month with a one-mile walk from the COCA offices at 50 N. 5th St in Reading to the RISE Recovery Center at 702 N. 8th St. The walk was followed by a celebration that included speeches, an invocation by Pastor Tom Scornavacchi and a butterfly release.
