Social distancing has necessarily changed the landscape when it comes to addiction recovery and treatment in Berks County. In-person support meetings have been replaced by Zoom meetings, and face-to-face counseling is often online as well. But the important thing to remember is this: treatment and recovery efforts are still available.
“It’s not like the drug and alcohol system went to sleep here,” said COCA Executive Director Stan Papademetriou in a recent Reading Eagle article. “Right now, today, the system is still operating. The long and the short of it is people still need care and we still have a way to get them care.”
