COCA’s Addiction Resource Lending Library

The Council on Chemical Abuse, in collaboration with the Berks County Library System, hosts an Addiction Resource Lending Library that is open to the public. The library is located in our office and is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The library is a clearinghouse of books, videos, and visual aids that address topics such as addictions, codependency, recovery, behavioral health, refusal skills, and parenting.

How to find our available titles online

  1. Visit the Berks County Library System website.
  2. At the top of the homepage, search for the topic of your choice, such as “addiction,” or “recovery.” You can also search for a specific title.
  3. On the page of search results, you will see a left-hand sidebar. The first category at the top of the sidebar is “Owning Libraries.” Select “Council on Chemical Abuse.” This will narrow your search results to only those books that are located in our Addiction Resource Lending Library.

Anyone wishing to borrow materials must have a Berks County Library System library card. You may reserve any of our materials online or by email at drugfree@cocaberks.org. Reserved items must be picked up at the Addictions Resource Library within five days after the reservation is made.

Brochures and Pamphlets

We offer brochures and pamphlets on many addiction and prevention-related topics. These are available at no cost to Berks County residents, businesses and organizations. Click here for more details.
