2023 Berks County Recovery Walk

Help raise awareness and celebrate recovery from substance use disorder with a walk from the RISE Center at 702 N. 8th St. to City Park on Saturday September 9 10AM – 2 PM. Walk will begin at 10 AM and proceed up Oley Street to 9th Street where the SOS Berks’ newly installed recovery-themed mural will be viewed. Jose, whose story inspired the mural, will speak about his path to recovery and how it is depicted in the artwork. Walkers will then proceed up 9th St. to Washington St., and end at City Park for a recovery celebration that will include:

• Welcome
• Honoring Recovery month by the Berks County Commissioners and Reading City Mayor
• A moment of silence and prayer
• Release of Butterflies
• Music by DJ Hamilton
• Rapper Chas “Colicchie” Smith (pictured below)
• Music Leroy Klavis
