Project Sticker Shock is an awareness campaign to educate the public and change attitudes about selling and serving alcohol to anyone under 21. The project organizes youth to place stickers on beer cases in local stores. The stickers contain a warning: “Providing alcohol to a person under 21 is a crime.”
Project Sticker Shock involves members of the community working together to reduce underage drinking and its related problems, and to enforce the underage drinking laws. It uses a youth-driven community environmental approach that focuses on those individuals who legally purchase beer then supply it to minors.
Members of our Teen Prevention Coalition placed stickers on beer cases and other alcohol-containing multi-packs at Rockland Beverage in May.
