About Leveling Up IRL

Programs run from June 15 – July 31, 2026

COCA is looking forward to a vibrant summer packed with engaging and exciting programs aimed at guiding youth to press pause and make healthy choices in real life! This year’s summer prevention program, features three distinct sessions focused on: Gaming/Gambling Prevention, Nicotine and Vaping, Mental Health and Wellbeing . Each session is conducted by COCA prevention specialists and includes inclusive, enjoyable activities that equip youth with the skills to avoid substances and lead healthy lives.

Press Pause: (Gambling/Gaming Prevention) is an interactive lesson that helps youth explore the connection between gaming, gambling, and making healthy choices. Participants will learn how some games use features like loot boxes, in-game purchases, and reward systems that can encourage risky behaviors similar to gambling. The session includes a fun Jeopardy-style trivia game where participants answer questions about gaming, odds, and healthy decision-making, encouraging them to “press pause” and think before they play.

Mission Possible: (Nicotine/Heart & Lungs/Vaping) is a hands-on lesson that teaches youth how to protect their heart and lungs from nicotine and vaping. Through interactive challenges and hands-on activities, participants explore how these substances impact their overall health. The lesson inspires smart, healthy choices and gives participants the tools to confidently say “Game Over” to nicotine!

Recharge your Energy Lives: (Mental Health) is a lesson that focuses on mental health and wellbeing. Through interactive activities and discussion, participants learn practical strategies to manage stress, boost mood, and maintain emotional balance- helping them recharge their “energy lives” and make choices that support a healthy mind and body.
