VIRTUAL TRAINING: Stress Management and Staff Burnout

This is a 6-hour training taught virtually in two sessions on August 19 & 20, 9:30 a.m. – noon. Cost: $20
Participants must attend both sessions in order to get credit. Sessions are not transferable (meaning you can’t take session 1 with us and session 2 somewhere else).

About the Training

This live virtual session will help you identify feelings of stress and burnout. It will define compassion and the importance of self-compassion. As essential workers, we have our own emotions, stressors, and struggles to carry, along with those of whom we serve. In the midst of the current circumstances, substance use professionals and agencies in PA have had to make rapid core changes to the way they have cared for those seeking services. We will discuss how that change has happened, what has worked, what struggles continue, and how it has impacted those receiving and providing services. This discussion will focus on the challenges faced by those entering recovery and maintaining recovery during social distancing and isolation. Training will address the impacts of social distancing on a disease of isolation and separation, as well as what to do to help mitigate that stress through resilience. Finally, it will offer a variety of simple techniques that you can build into your day to help you manage stress during tough times.

Six PCB credits will be offered for the workshop.

Trainer: Gregory Krausz has been in the field of addictions for 17 years.  He is currently Co-owner of Monocacy Counseling Associates, Adjunct professor in addictions counseling at Moravian College and Director of Addiction Treatment Programs at the Mid-Atlantic Rehabilitation Services-ATP.
