VIRTUAL TRAINING: Addiction 101 – REGISTRATION CLOSED

This is a 6-hour training taught virtually in two 3-hour sessions from 9 a.m. – noon on May 19 & 20, 2022. Cost is $20

Participants must attend both sessions in order to get credit. Sessions are not transferable (meaning you cant take session 1 with us and session 2 somewhere else).

This is an introductory course that addresses the theory of addiction, the effects of drugs and alcohol on the brain, and basic pharmacology. Excellent training for individuals interested in acquiring a basic understanding of the addictive disease process. This is a required training for drug and alcohol counselors. Any professional who works with clients with substance abuse concerns – training is appropriate for staff from social service agencies including children and youth, adult and juvenile probation, domestic relations, job training, and employment and public assistance.

Six PCB credits will be offered for the workshop. This is a required DDAP training.

Trainer: Sarah Davis received her Master’s Degree from University of Maryland in 1994. She has been working in the field of drug and alcohol both in clinical and management positions since 1991. She has been an approved DDAP trainer since 1997, both teaching classes and working in curriculum development.

Registration Information

This training will be held online and REQUIRES each individual to be logged in on their own computer. Individuals may not share a computer. Individuals may not use a cell phone to attend this training. All individuals MUST have a working video camera and microphone TURNED ON for the duration of the training.

About the Trainer

Sarah Davis received her Master’s Degree from University of Maryland in 1994. She has been working in the field of drug and alcohol both in clinical and management positions since 1991. She has been an approved Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs trainer since 1997, both teaching classes and working in curriculum development.
