Berks Co. Pharmacist Training: Medications for Opioid Use Disorder
Berks County pharmacists and pharmacy staff are invited to a live virtual training on medications for opioid use disorder, presented by Daniel Ventricelli, PharmD, MPH, a pharmacist/faculty member of the University of Sciences College of Pharmacy. This is a live virtual training on Zoom, hosted by the SOS Berks Opioid Coalition to address evidence for Medication Assisted Treatment, the impact of stigma, and strategies for improving access.
This training will:
- Summarize the scientific evidence supporting the appropriate use of medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder.
- Recognize the importance of collaborative working relationships among prescribers and pharmacists.
- Discuss results of a survey of Pennsylvania community pharmacists exploring the behavioral intentions to dispense buprenorphine containing medications.
- Discuss strategies for addressing stigma and obstacles to improving access to medications for opioid use disorder.
