COVID-19: Dealing with Social and Emotional Needs

As families and educators navigate the public health implications of COVID-19, they are also coping with anxiety related to social distancing, school closures, distance learning and other concerns. The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is stressing the importance of focusing on the social and emotional needs of children and adults at this time.

CASEL has put together resources for states, districts, educators, and families highlighting how SEL can provide support during this challenging time. These resources are found on the CASEL website here, and they have promised to continuously update the information as more resources become available.

They are also underscoring the importance of SEL for adults who, in addition to caring for children, are facing increased pressures and responsibilities. Below is a list of resources for addressing the social and emotional needs of families and educators.
